V European Labour Mobility Congress was accompanied by the action called #ProtectionismIsNotFair. ELMC participants could photograph themselves with a slogan tablet at the so-called “protest corner”. The phrase expressed objection against protectionism in the European Union. All pictures collected in the form of photo petition will be send to the European officers and institutions. Our aim is to draw EU politicians attention to the protectionist regulations – they do not have anything in common with protection of worker’s rights. They are anti-value which operates social values as disguise. That is the reason why we decided to protest: against revision of the Posting Directive, against extra charges and obstacles imposed on posting companies. Currently, the Directive is in “trilog”: consultation of European Comission, European Parliament and European Council. This is almost the final phase of legislative process. We hope that the planned reform on the posting of workers directive will not be used to impose barriers e.g. limiting free movement of services within internal market, particularly for the Member States with the lower level of economic and social development.
