You could not make it to the V European Labour Mobility Congress? No problem!

The Congress was inaugurated by representatives of institutions co-hosting the first day of the event, Stefan Schwarz, the President of Labour Mobility Initiative and Jadwiga Emilewicz – undersecretary of state at Polish Ministry for Economic Development. After them, the floor belonged to Marzena Rogalska from Directorate-General GROW at the European Commission, actin in lieu of Commissioner Elżbieta Bieńskowska who was forced to decline her participation in the Congress in the very last moment.
Afterwards, the participants could hear a speech from the Special Guest of the V ELMC, Prof. Danny Pieters. His speech was followed by the first panel discussion- ‘Fraudulent practices in the cross-border work mobility’ joined, among others, by experts of trade unions. Next discussion ‘Centre and peripheries of the EU single market’, including presentation from Mădălina Racovițan, from KPMG, the main partner of this year’s congress.
After the lunch break, the panel discussion focused on direction of labour mobility, answering the question, whether Europe can survive without the posted workers. Participants had an occassion to listen to both laureates of this year’s Labor Mobilis Award – Prof. Jozef Pacolet and Frederic De Wispealere from HIVA Institute at KU Leuven.
