We are honored that professor Maciej Szpunar – the Advocate General of the Court of Justice of the European Union – will give his keynote address at the III European Labour Mobility Congress.
Prof. Maciej Szpunar is the Advocate General of the Court of Justice of the EU since October 2013. In the past, he served as a representative of the Polish government in numerous cases before the European Union judicature, including the most important cases concerning the posting of workers, such as C-115/11 (Format) and C-522/12 (Isbir).
Our outstanding guest will give his keynote address on the first day of the Congress. He will explain the role of the court and the possibilities of protection of the service companies against violations of their rights. It should be known that at the stage of the first-instance proceedings parties have the right to apply to the national court to request the CJEU for a preliminary ruling. This possibility should be used whenever there is a doubt about the interpretation or validity of an EU law. And as it was underlined before, in terms of the rules governing the cross-border provision of services most of the provisions raise questions about the interpretation or validity of the European law.
The entire program of the III European Labour Mobility Congress is available here.
